as some of you may know, i have been reading the no brainer wardrobe and L.O.V.E. it!
i am only to page 26, and i am beyond inspired. but before i speak of the awesomeness, i have a confession.
my name is paige, and i am a shopaholic. or um. thriftaholic.
it's true. i love, love, love thrift stores. i can get clothes for $1, so um, why not? the problem for me is, $1 is just too cheap. i buy it all. anything that might be a possibility.
thrift stores often don't have dressing rooms, and even if they do, it kinda creeps me out! so i end up buying stuff without really even thinking about it.
houston, we have a problem.
then the no brainer wardrobe catches my eye on twitter one day.
a sale. the no brainer wardrobe is $4.
i buy it. and it is the best $4 that i have EVER spent! it is re-training my brain to think before i shop.
to think, will i wear this? can i mix it with other pieces to make lots of different outfits? how will i feel in it? and THEN i will ask if it is a good price.
one of the first steps is purging your closet of the items that you no longer wear. items that you don't feel amazing in. items that don't work for you. so i tried on everything in my closet, and made two piles. keep and get rid of. and for the first time in a long time, the keep pile was SMALLER than the stuff that i wanted to get rid of... crazy! :)
now, don't get me wrong, i LOVE most of the stuff that i got rid of. but i really needed to think about whether or not i needed all of these clothes! i don't!
so my loss is your gain... i opened up a little shop, Paige's Closet. i will be listing stuff on there weekly (or even daily) until my "get rid of" pile is gone! :)
have fun shopping!!
xoxo,
paige

I've definitely been thinking about checking this out! I know I don't need most of the clothes I have!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea! About 2 years ago, I cleaned out my cower like this and have 20 select pieces that I kept. I feel great in those outfits, and I never have to worry. It's all about accessorizing!
ReplyDeleteI have to admit, I love your blog! Very refreshing! Keep it up!
